International placement for CoE students
To inspire the next generation of scientists, who drive the future of Australian science and innovation, the CoE sent PhD students, Holly Ung and Blake Mazzitelli to a placement at the Fraunhofer Institute in Berlin.
Holly and Blake were selected to take part in a 12-week research placement with researchers at Fraunhofer. The international placement experience helps to establish connections for students at the beginning of their careers, and it could have an impact on relationships between German and Australian researchers in the future.
They are both very busy during the week working on separate projects, and are looking forward to returning to Melbourne to share their new knowledge and experiences. On their days off, Holly and Blake are enjoying some great sunny weather, roof top BBQs and day trips to Berlin.
Keep an eye on the Centre’s website for information about the next round of placements for PhD students.
