DAVID SMITH

Masters Student

Phase-contrast imaging and image quality

Supervisor? name:

Prof. Harry Quiney
A/Prof. Tim Gureyev

Overview:
David Smith is currently engaged in a research project in X-ray phase-contrast imaging, quantifying and measuring subjective image quality characteristics in an objective manner to demonstrate the advantages of the use of phase contrast over absorption contrast. He has a strong interest in data analysis, and the use of image software, notably X-TRACT and ImageJ.

Since commencing his postgraduate study, David has taught undergraduates in the physics laboratory. In addition to continuing in academia upon the completion of his Master? degree, David is keen to apply his knowledge and skills in data analysis and physics in industry, in Australia and abroad.
