DAVID SMITH
Masters Student
Phase-contrast imaging and image quality
Supervisor’s name:
Prof. Harry Quiney
A/Prof. Tim Gureyev
Overview:
David Smith is currently engaged in a research project in X-ray phase-contrast imaging, quantifying and measuring subjective image quality characteristics in an objective manner to demonstrate the advantages of the use of phase contrast over absorption contrast. He has a strong interest in data analysis, and the use of image software, notably X-TRACT and ImageJ.
Since commencing his postgraduate study, David has taught undergraduates in the physics laboratory. In addition to continuing in academia upon the completion of his Master’s degree, David is keen to apply his knowledge and skills in data analysis and physics in industry, in Australia and abroad.
