Overview:
Blake Mazzitelli is a structural biochemist and innate immunologist at the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute.

Blake’s PhD project primarily sought to understand the role of the serine protease Plasmin in macrophage biology. This work has led to various publications, as well as a research placement at Fraunhofer IZI-BB in Potsdam, Germany. Beyond this his academic work, Blake has also undertaken an internship as a clinical research coordinator at Alfred Health, coordinating clinical trials in the oncology setting.

Blake hopes to continue both clinical and molecular research in the field of cancer immunotherapy, working towards generating better treatment outcomes for patients.
